That is an issue: "if you're looking for a job at a big studio".
The point is that if you can draw you can bypass the "big studio". And after all the "big studio" would have you show up day after day doing a specialised task at one single point in an inhuman pipeline with no real prospects of ever getting out of the hole (Ok, worse case scenario but not too far wrong).
Bypass by going straight to the client with a drawing, movie, of their product that will knock their socks off and they will hopefully get the picture ... and pay for it of course. But dont go straight after the big accounts ... one man can not beat the pipelines that serve the big accounts as a rule.
Also it can be very handy for a group to act together ... maybe two or three who decide to go for it.
Anyway, RS is just one of many seemingly similar pencils. However it is an all-round pencil. Its features allow it to cover more or less everything needed in a commercial illustration studio without having to buy this app for this part of a job and another app for something else. The render capacity of RS is far in excess of anything I have ever needed. It'll do me.
